Have you experienced yo-yo dieting? Or do you know someone that has? This is the type of diet where you deny yourself of great tasting food and spend hours at the gym. You lose a lot of weight at first, but then the weight slowly adds back on with a few additional pounds in some cases. The problem with fad diets are they don’t try to understand what is making you fat or even sick. You may hear- cut carbs! cut calories! workout harder! But do you know the real reason you are overweight?
If you don’t address the reason you are fat or sick, you will continue in this viscous cycle forever leading to more severe problems like depression or heart disease. Being overweight actually means that your body is sick. You might say, I’m not sick because I don’t have any major symptoms similar to a cold or the flu. Your body can still be fighting some type of sickness and the symptoms just haven’t shown up yet, but trust me… they will later on if you don’t make a change now.
To start to a healthier lifestyle, here is a tip of the day…
For the next week, don’t eat any food that is packaged in a box, can or a bottle. To help you get started, when you go grocery shopping stay on the perimeter of the store buying all whole and fresh foods. Try to stick with foods that have grown on this earth for thousands of years, not something that was created in a chemistry lab and stuck on the grocery shelf a year ago.
When your body is functioning at a level of homeostasis it will naturally level out to the weight you are supposed to be. This means no more yo-yo dieting! And you may notice you have more energy throughout the day, less belly fat and a more peaceful night of sleep.
